Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"I stayed in room 2 over Easter & it was lovely! The decor is amazing. The location is right on Folkestone seafront. I also had dinner in the pub & the food was great with friendly staff. I gave 4 stars as I found it noisy at night as the hotel is right next to a road. There is also no physical lock on the room, only the electronic one. As I was traveling alone, I would've felt safer with an actual lock on the door. I would also agree with a few other reviews that the functionally of the room could be more thought out, but I only stayed 1 night so it wasn't a big deal. Overall, I would 100% book again & hopefully the British weather will cooperate this time!"
"This is a wonderful hotel. I'm almost scared to write this as I'm worried that it will then be solidly booked and I can't stay here again. The service is next level. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Couldn't have asked for more. Aiden had to carry my luggage up the stairs and he was so happy to do it. Then, in the morning, the girls carried them down. I was so impressed. The food is exceptional (eggs benedict - wow!) and the room was gorgeous, overlooking the harbour. The bed was the most comfy I've slept in for ages. Luxury bathroom. Although no linked parking, it was very easy to park. Fab all round. Thanks guys."
"Lovely night away staying at this hotel. Staff were really helpful, and the room was wonderful. Incredible bath, great views and a really comfy bed. Everything was very clean and tidy. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend if you're staying in Folkestone."
"Amazing view, clean room and delicious breakfast. But the service did not meet our expectation given the price paid. The person in charge of checkin almost scolded us for heading towards the door leading to the hotel because we were supposed to figure out on our own that checkin takes place at the pub counter. Check out is at 10am, and a 20£ extra fee will be charged if you are more than 15min late. A rather harsh policy that adds pressure to what is meant to be a moment of relaxation. All the more so as breakfast was served after a 40-minute wait (the waitress was really lovely and welcoming)"
"So much though and hard work has gone into the design and cleanliness of these spacious comfy rooms. We'll definitely be returning next year!"
"We stayed in the London and Paris hotel this passed weekend and it was gorgeous! The room was decorated so lovely, with such a stunning sea view. The location is perfect, close to the creative quarter and the beach. The staff were really nice and professional. We were able to leave our bags in before check in and after check out to explore Folkestone and go to the beach. We had dinner in the harbour inn restaurant which was delicious, the portions were huge and the seafood was so fresh, the service was very good, were very attentive but not overbearing. Breakfast in the hotel was also delicious. Stunning stay, would definitely come back and recommend to anyone going to visit Folkestone"
"Nice, clean rooms full of character in the perfect location. Staff interaction was quite limited and created the feel of staying in an empty hotel which was a bit of a shame."
"The positives: room 6 was wonderful with lots of clever ideas eg metal freestanding bath. The view of the harbour was very special. The fresh fish at dinner was beautifully cooked. The negatives: the check-in was chaotic, ‘I’ve only worked here 5 weeks’ said the receptionist. At breakfast the waitress was efficient but it was 30 minutes between ordering the cooked breakfast and it’s arrival. (There were only 5 people in the restaurant).Checkout is 1000 but because of the delay we were allowed some extra time. The price was £200, the standard hotel rate in Folkestone is less than £100 at this time of year. Bottom line- the room was so special we would come again but please sort out the breakfast."
